About Pat

Pat is a life long resident of the area, having grown up in Lakeville, graduating from Rosemount High School in 1989 and Mankato State University in 1994. Pat and his wife Julie live in Farmington with their two children.

Pat is a consultant working as a network and voice engineer. Julie (Rohloff) Garofalo is a Kindergarten teacher in the Farmington schools. The Garofalo family are members of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Farmington.

Pat was first elected to the legislature in 2004, receiving the highest percentage vote of any first time candidate during that election. Since then, Pat has been re-elected by large margins. Some of Pat’s top priorities at the Capitol are lowering taxes, promoting economic development and lowering both the cost and amount of pollution from energy.

Pat has been recognized as a national leader on energy policy issues. Pat previously serverd as the national co-chair for the Council of State Government’s Energy and Environmental Public Policy Committee. More recently, Pat has been recognized as a legislator of distinction by the Minnesota Grocer’s Association, The Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities and the Minnesota High Tech Association. Pat has followed in the footsteps of former Governor Tim Pawlenty and current Congressman Erik Paulsen by being selected to the ACYPL Program. (American Council of Young Political Leaders). The past 2 legislative sessions, Pat has served as Chairman of the powerful House Job Growth Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee.
